How to dress for prom and graduation ceremony? Last minute hints and tips

It’s the middle od July, and the season of proms and graduation ceremonies has officially started a while ago. In regards to this, I’ve prepared for you a few last minute hints and tips on how to dress for this occasions and what shops will be the best shopping destinations to buy a perfect dress, heels and accessories. Keep reading if you don’t want to spend too much money, yet still look gorgeous and trendy!
I always say that when it comes to dressing for any occssion, the first thing we have to consider is comfort. You want to present yourself as a well-groomed and stylish person. Wearing too high heels will not help you to achieve this impression (unless you feel like you were born to wear 4.5 inch stillettos!). On the contrary, they may damage your feet and your overall style, and in a result, it may have a negative effect on your mood. Shoes or sandals with a heel up to 3.5 – 4 inch will be a wise choice, if you’re used to wearing heels. For  those who aren’t, I would recommend kitten heels – you will feel more confident on your prom or graduation day, yet still comfortable. If you want to wear closed toe heels, choose pointed ones – they are the most fashionable this season. Select and River Island will be the two shopping destinations where you will find them in various colours. If sandal heels are your choice, check out New Look – they have a wide range of different colours and styles.
When it comes to dress, its’ style, length, shape and material depends on your choice and what you want to look like this special for you day. If you have a romantic soul – pick a lace dress in a pastel colour like blue, orange or yellow. If you adore colourful dresses, you can wear one with flower prints. There’s nothing better than standing out from the crowd, so if you like attention, then wear a metallic dress: plain gold or silver. When you decide that you want to wear something classic, choose a simple red or black dress. You can wear a dress in most available types: cocktail, strapless, maxi, wrap or A-line dress, but forget about mini and shirt dresses because they’re not appropriate. There’re any general rules for the appropriate sleeve length, so you can wear whatever you’re most comfortable in. However, you have to consider the length of your dress. It’s important to keep a balance when dressing for this type of events, so if you decide to show  your cleavage, then try to choose below the knee or knee-length dresses.  You want to look sexy but classy - not provocative. Most of high street shops in Northampton hold a sale now. You will definitely find a lovely cocktail dress in River Island, as this is what this shop is known for.  H&M, BHS, Dorothy Perkins and Next will be good shopping destinations for accessories and jewellery with prices starting from £2!
